I love weddings, thats the long and short of it, its the whole reason I got into Wedding Photography. Being asked to capture someones special day is a great honour, and I adore my clients who are all A-mazing. Last nights wedding was no exception, as I sit here after being on my feet for 12 hours straight and being awake until 2am editing photos I still have a big smile on my face looking through these photos.

Leanne and Bieber Alex are quite possibly the cutest couple you will ever meet. They got together a few years ago after one of Leannes friend sent Alex a text message saying that she knew someone who liked him, and the rest as they say is history.

Leanne and Alex got married at The Roffen Club in Rochester, Kent in front of their friends and family. When the speaches were made, I dont think there was a dry eye in the house. All I can say is that there is a lot of love between this family and indeed between their friends too. My cheeks hurt today from all the smiling I did watching the interaction between people, it was incredibly sweet.

After the food we were treated to an acoustic set by the Grooms band Vanity Layne, who you might remember I did a promo shoot for not too long ago. From there on they danced the night away and had a rather amazing evening even if I do say so myself. It was also a pleasure working alongside John Hinton from Wedding Videos 4U who I highly recommend if you are wanting Videography for your wedding!

Enough with the talking, may I present to you Mr & Mrs Walter

On  a gloriously sunny Thursday morning, we went down to The Archbishops Palace in Maidstone to photograph the wedding of Ant & Jaz. Surprisingly for early April, we had a very sunny and very hot day and I was delighted that they had chosen us to capture their big day.

To take a break from the norm, once we had exhausted the photo opportunities at the Archbishops Palace we took a stroll along the River Medway and used some of the historic buildings as a backdrop to continue with some gorgeous wedding photography.

For the reception, they hired out the stunning Breeze Bar in Maidstone and I would highly recommend this little gem of a venue for your reception!

Anyway, enough waffle lets see some pictures

As a Photographers, we are always looking for ways to keep the creative juices flowing. One of the ways that I do this, is to shoot unsigned bands. I’m a huge fan of live music, and even more so when it comes to up and coming talent.

This band are amazing, and I had been talking to Alex for ages about doing some promotional photos for the band, however arranging 5 peoples diaries can be a bit of a challenge. Needless to say we finally managed to get a chance to do a shoot. In 2 hours we managed to shoot in 4 different locations and nearly get ourselves run over in the process. All part of the fun I guess.

Anyway, let me introduce you to Vanity Layne a superb covers band from Kent, and below we have the fruits of our labour. Enjoy!

This post is inspired by a conversation I had with a friend recently about how stressful a wedding can be.

So the time has come for your formal portraits to begin….cue the scramble of arranging family members and friends for the vast array of photos needing doing on the day. Wedding Portraits are one of the most important elements of your Wedding Day, as it is these that you will be showing people in years to come.

A wedding can be a stressful event  and as a Bride and Groom you are the center of attention for the entire day, and sometimes this can be a little overwhelming.  This is where planning a little extra time for photography can be a godsend.

Here’s an idea for you, when arranging your timescales for the day set aside and extra 30 to 45 minutes to spend time with the photographer. This will have two benefits,

1 – It will give you and your partner a chance to be (almost) alone together for probably the first time all day, and 2 – With it just being you (the couple) and us, we can be more creative with portraits of the two of you, without you getting embarrassed around friends and family

Everyone likes to be a little different. By planning a little extra time into your day, it means that in a relatively short space of time we can have some fun and get some lovely creative portraits of the brand new Mr & Mrs.

Below is a set of photos I took this weekend at St Marys Church in South Woodford, London. This is a prime example of how we can use that “alone time” and take some beautiful photos of just the two of you, in all your glory and splendor on your big day.

A couple of months ago myself and another photographer decided to check out a wedding fayre, to get some ideas for my up and coming wedding. As it was a sunny Sunday, we decided to take the bikes and so off we rode to the Ramada. Needless to say just about everyone thought that Rob and I were the ones getting married, I don’t know whether it was the leather gear or what but there we are. Anyway, I got to talking to a wonderfully friendly lady called Becky. Becky runs a company called Your Beautiful Day, and I have to say she is one of the friendliest and professional people I have ever met. Your Beautiful Day, specialise in Venue Decorating. If your wanting tables decorated, venues dressed up and all manner of other pretty things, Becky is your woman.

You may be wondering where this story is going. Well after a lot of emails back and forth, we decided to do a “Showcase” day of sorts. Becky dressed tables and showed off her wonderful skills; Matt, from Traditions Wedding Cars kindly brought along a stunning Rolls Royce Silver Shadow; and The Inn on the Lake kindly supplied there venue. And our Bride for the day for the lovely Chloe Franks was our Model Bride for the day.

So here we are, a selection of just some of the photos from that very windy Sunday afternoon, and a big thanks to all of those involved!
