When I first started as a wedding photographer, a lovely young couple by the name of James and Kirsty got in touch as they were getting married. They were looking for a wedding photographer and contacted me about my services for their big day. I always tell the story of their big day and how I ended up falling off a chair and twisting my ankle, and how hardcore I am for getting through the day even after that. Well, at their wedding, I met Kirstys young sister Sam and her husband to be Ashley. 2 years later, Kirsty contacts me and asks me to shoot her sister Sams wedding. How could I resist!

Sam and Ashley got married at the beautiful St. Andrews church and held their reception at the Pavilion Sports and Lesuire Club, Eltham. This happened to be my last wedding of the year and was full of surprises. I absolutely love this family, they are such a warm and loving bunch and so welcoming. The balloon person hadn’t hung the exploding balloon for the first dance. So James and I formulated a plan to throw the balloon up over the bride and groom and pop it that way. Needless to say, this worked out quite well, and the snow machine was a lovely touch.

I did learn one very important thing at this wedding, when 80 odd people have confetti, zip up your camera bag. It took me ages to get all of the confetti out of my bag and I’m still finding it even now 🙂

So, without further ado, here is Sam and Ashleys wedding. The link for the full gallery is at the end.
