I photograph super cool people, being super cool, on super cool days.
Hey! I’m James, I’m an 80’s child, and I’m a wedding photographer based in Kent. Although I’m in Kent I travel all over the place shooting weddings, so no matter where you’re getting married, even if its a destination wedding I’m your guy! Every photographer says “Oh I love weddings and I love “love” and seeing people be loving to each other in a lovey way is lovely” That’s not me. Truth is I like hanging out with people and sharing a laugh and a joke with them and capturing people having a fun time. That’s the appeal to me of weddings, is being part of a fun day where everyone has come together to drink, eat, dance and be merry. If I had to describe my style, I’d say I was a wee bit of an alternative wedding photographer mixed in with documentary and a pinch of fine art. More importantly I photograph real people, real emotions and capture real moments.
I’m not the kind of photographer who lurks in the shadows with a long lens. I find that to get the best most natural photos, you have to get involved and up close with the guests. When they see you as another guest people let their guard down and you see the real person…rather than that cheesy awkward smile we all do when a camera is pointed our way. Everybody, and I do mean everybody says “Ahhh I hate my picture being taken” I get it, I really do. The way I run the portraits is more about you two hanging out and being all coupley with each other. I do however, have a penchant for setting couples up against dramatic backdrops. Rather than me waffle on about why you should hire me, make a cuppa, sit yourself down and take a look through my site. When you’re done and suitably impressed, drop me a line and we can meet up for a coffee and chat about your wedding.
Some nice words from some nice people
“I first saw James work on a wedding site on Facebook and was blown away. Contacting James was a breeze and I immediately sensed his easy going attitude and clicked with him straight away – that’s massively important to me as I am awkward around new people and when having my photo taken.
On the run up to the wedding James answered all questions I had, no matter how small and trivial they were and completely put me at ease.
On the day of the wedding he was almost invisible but our photos were incredible. Both myself and my husband are grateful to James for doing such an amazing job – so amazing that I have spent the last 3 months agonising over which photos to choose for the album. From the both of us – Thank you James ! And to anyone reading, don’t hesitate to book him – you will not be disappointed.” – Carla & Nick
“We wanted a wedding photographer who would be easy going, inconspicuous during those special moments, and capture some amazing photos of our special day. James did all that and more! In the run up to the day, James was always on hand to answer any questions.
On the day James was a true legend, nothing seemed too much of an ask and he always had an eye out to keep everything moving smoothly. The photos felt really natural and it felt more like a mate taking some photos than someone we had only met a few times. James put a lot of work in post the event making sure the colours and balances were just so – a true sign of a perfectionist.
We would recommend James to any one looking for a fun, easy going, quirky photographer to capture one of the most special days you can have together through really amazing photos.” – Flick & Ollie
