Hurricanes & Diamonds Part 1 – The Iceland Sessions

Back at the beginning of the year, I attended the SWPP convention. It’s an annual event in London, where by thousands of photographers decend on the Hilton Metropole to talk equipment and get drunk afterwards. I met up with my good friends Abigail Steed, and Kari Bellamy and we talked about doing something a bit epic. Long story short, we ended up in Iceland a few weeks later, with the idea of doing some shoots out there.

One of the couples I shot, was the lovely Kelli and Brandon. I met Brandon through Reddit after putting a shout out, to see if anyone fancied getting together for a photo shoot. It just so happened, that Brandon had decided to propose to Kelli whilst they were out there, so our trip to Iceland was rather fortuitously timed!

I have always wanted to photograph a wedding in Iceland, so this was an ideal opportunity to see how that would play out. Little did we know, that we would be battered by an Arctic Storm and 50mph+ winds! Even the locals thought the weather was pretty crazy, and thought we were all pretty insane for even attempting to shoot. However us Wedding Photographers are a hardy breed, and despite some pretty appalling conditions I think we managed to rock it!

So, first up in the Hurricanes & Diamonds series is Kelli & Brandon!
