This summer has been manic with weddings. Whilst I’m making my way through the editing, I thought I would try and catch up on some blogging of weddings too!  So…Mel and Jeff, let’s do this!

Mel and Jeff are both live music fans, so when Mel told me that the reception would have a  music festival theme to it I was a little bit excited. The wedding was held on a little farm in the heart of Kent, what started off as a bit of a grey day ended up with some beautiful weather, save for the plague of tiny bugs flying around everywhere. I’ve always said, that I want to wear a cape. Not like a superhero, but more like a Victorian villain. That and a top hat…maybe a cane too. Anyway, I digress, the reason I mention this is that Mel and Jeffs celebrant for the day was a family friend and he wore….a cape! How amazing is that! This was an incredibly fun wedding to photograph.

The wedding guests were all sat outside on hay bales which had hand made cushions each with every bodies name on, which was a lovely touch and  a great keepsake of the big day. The marquee that the reception was held in was gloriously decorated in a music theme. From the record table names and place mats, to the customised plectrums on each table and the numerous LPs hanging around the marquee it was a pretty special deal. I dont think I’ve ever seen a more colourful wedding than this one.

The first dance was pretty funny, with Jeff throwing some shapes on the dance floor and all the guests “getting down” to the live band. Afterwards, we went out for some super serious portraits. Needless to say, although the girls handled it like pros and nailed everything first time…the boys were…well…boys.
