Mountains Country House, is a magnificent 19th Century Grade II listed mansion set in acres of stunning Parkland in Hildenborough, Kent. In the years I’ve been photographing weddings, I had yet to shoot one at Mountains. As luck would have it, this would be my second trip to the venue in as many days. I was there the day before for another wedding.
I had the awesome Sarah Hummerstone of GingerCat Photography second shooting for me on this wedding, and just to up the awesomeness of the day we also had the Wonder Twins, Carrie and Ryan of Talking Fly with us shooting video. FYI, you can see the highlights video of the day here. I left the bridal preps in the capable hands of Sarah, whilst I headed on over to Aylesford to catch the guys having a pre wedding drink. They started their day off at The Hengist just down the road from Aylesford Church. I’ve shot quite a few weddings over the years at this church, and the front of it is one of my favourites…mainly because it has a massive tree out the front that gives a nice bit of shade even on the brightest of days.
It was a rather interesting day weather wise, we were plagues by rain on and off throughout the day and Carrie and Ryan were rather smug about having their new branded umbrellas with them. St Peter & St Paul’s Church in Aylesford is a pretty little church, which sits just above the old village, overlooking the river medway below. As the guests took their seats, Naomi arrived and I think it’s fair to say she look absolutely amazing.
As Naomi walked down the aisle, with her and Andy’s adorable wee girls, it was our Andy who shed a tear first. A big strapping lad, it was heartwarming to see him show such emotion. I don’t think Naomi could have smiled any bigger than she did without the risk of hurting her cheeks. It was a beautiful ceremony and the start of our journey for the day.
Next up, we all headed over to Mountains Country House. I know this sounds a bit weird, but it has really nice grass down there. Like, perfect grass. Anyway, the marquee that the reception was held in was beautifully decorated. Steph from Belle Fleur had provided the flowers, and as ever had done a stellar job. The sounds of the KD jazz band filled the air, and rather aptly they played Me and Mrs Jones for the new Mr and Mrs Jones. The rest of the day passed with a bit of a rain shower, but it didnt put a dampner on spirits and after some amazing speeches and the shoe game, the party danced their way into the night.
So here we are with the wedding of Naomi and Andy, enjoy!
