Last month, I had the great pleasure of shooting my friend Mhairi and, her now husband, Mikes wedding. They were getting married at the beautiful Dalhousie Castle, just outside of Edinburgh. A winter wedding, in Scotland…I’m not going to lie, I was freezing! However there is something so beautiful about winter sun and when you add the Scottish landscape to it it creates a perfect storm of beauty.
I’ve had Scotland down on my Wedding Photography Bucket List for quite a while now, so there was no way I could resist the journey up to Scotland to shoot my old friend Mhairis wedding. Mhairi and Mike are such an awesome couple both with such lovely friendly families that really made the day a special one. Blending the English and Scottish traditions worked flawlessly and the humanist ceremony they had was so full of personality and really suited them as a couple…no offence to the registrars of England 😉
They were both absolutely troopers, even agreeing to cross boggy grass land so we could shoot in a beautiful patch of land behind the castle. I could ramble on and on about how wonderful everything was, and how amazing it was to photograph at wedding at Dalhousie Castle, but instead, let me just show you the photos.
Here’s my highlights from Mhairi and Mikes wedding! A big thank you goes out to the awesome Abigail Steed for second shooting this one with me.
