Many years ago, I shot a wedding at The Hop Farm in Paddock Wood. That evening I met a Dj who wasn’t feeling very well. Despite being rather under the weather, he picked himself up and put on some fantastic evening entertainment for the couple. Roll on 3 years later and I became his wedding photographer.
I’ve known Ian and Angela for a while now, and I think it’s safe to say we’ve become good friends. Although I don’t see them both as much as I would like too, they are both amazing people. One of the things about working within the wedding industry is that you make a lot of friends who obviously, work in the wedding industry. You also get a behind the scenes peek at the people behind the business. I guess the point I’m trying to make, is that you end up with inside knowledge on which wedding suppliers are the best and on the same level as you. Needless to say, Ian and Angela’s wedding at Judds Folly was a veritable cavalcade of Kents finest wedding suppliers.
One thing that I always like to see at a wedding is a weepy groom. I’ve always thought that men feel they have to put on this stoic face during emotional situations, however over the last year or so I have had some emotional grooms who have made my heart melt. Well, Ian did not disappoint. Weddings are a seriously emotional day, and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house. Just by being around Ian and Angela, you can almost feel the love between the two of them. The way he looks at her, the way they play off of each others banter, the way they hold each other is beautiful and puts me in mind of a quote on love by Plato.
“Every heart sings a song, incomplete, until another heart whispers back. Those who wish to sing always find a song. At the touch of a lover, everyone becomes a poet.”– Plato
As I mentioned, Kents finest wedding suppliers pulled out all the stops for this wedding. Sonja Weed of The Whitstable Cake Company produced an absolutely beautiful behemoth of a wedding cake, decorated in a music theme. Sadly, I forgot to nab a bit of cake however to be honest, I’m more of an icing kinda guy and tend to just eat that.
Once again I had the pleasure of working with the awesome Ryan and Carrie of Talking Fly and finally got to meet the man, the beard himself, Mr Matt Barker who produces some insane marryokes.
I’m sure I’ve forgotten some people, however here are just some of the awesome wedding suppliers that helped make the day… Judds Folly, The Whitstable Cake Company, Belle Fleur, Rose Royce events, Country Brides of Faversham, Crystal Creations Tiaras, Clare lake MUA, Your Toastmasters, Pollys Pantry, Paul cantara was the singer/DJ, Kent Discos, Talking Fly, Matt barker, Piccybooth, Rob Glendinning and so many many more
Anyway, I could waffle on for hours about how beautiful this wedding was, and how amazing Ian and Angela are. Instead, let me show you. Here’s my highlights from Ian and Angela’s Wedding at Judds Folly in Faversham, Kent. Link to the full gallery after the pictures.
