Keeda & Phil – A Vintage Wedding in Saffron Walden.
Keeda & Phil, what can I say about this wedding other than Holy Balls this wedding was awesome! Spitfires, vintage clothing, airfields, a vintage bus and some serious moustache styling. Hold on to your butts, this is a big post.
Keeda got ready at the Cross Keys hotel in Saffron Walden. Aside from the terrible parking, Saffron Walden is a lovely little town, and the room Keeda and her bridesmaids got married in was a wedding photographers dream! Big windows, lots of space and tons of natural light.
After getting ready, it was time to head to the Audley Rooms for the wedding. Keeda and Phils wedding had a vintage theme and all the guests made an amazing effort to dress up. Phil and the guests were waiting for Keeda to arrive, and when she walked through those doors, Phil had the biggest smile on his face ever! We did confetti outside the Audley Rooms, before all the guests boarded a Bedford Duple Vega from 1956. As coaches go, it was a beautiful machine and really fitted in with the theme of the day.
We all headed over to Audley End Airfield, which is where Keeda and Phil keep their very own airplane. The hanger held some absolutely stunning old planes, including an old bi plane. I knew I had to get a shot in their as it looked epic. Drinks and canapés were outside on a glorious summers day and we had the speeches outside too.
For the final part of the day, we all headed over to North Weald Airfield in Epping Forest for the reception. I never realised just how big an airfield was until I drove around the outside of North Weald. At one point I thought I was in the wrong place as I’d be driving so long, but as I carried on round, I could spot a bunch of people in vintage clothing and knew this was the right place. The reception room, was an old hangar and was decorated in a wartime theme, with plenty of bunting hanging around. Outside the BBQ was in full effect and drinks were being served out of an old double decker bus that had been converted into a bar. Keeda, Phil and the rest of the guest soon arrived . One of the guests turned up in the Pride of Kent Spitfire. The sound that thing made was immense and we had to have some photos in front of it.
Pretty soon the band started playing and the dancefloor was filled. As the evening came around, we snuck outside to grab one final shot before I called it a day.
Here are my highlights from Keeda & Phils Wedding.
