Claire and Simon got married at the Salvation Army Centre in Maidstone, and had their beautiful reception at the stunning Bradbourne House in Maidstone. I’ve known Claire for about 10 years now, back in the day a load of us used to hang around Burger King in Maidstone and head to the Thirsty Pig for a few drinks. This was how I met Claire.

Roll on last year and Claire got in touch because she was getting married and wanted me to shoot the big day. Well I have to say it was an absolute honour to do so, and I also ran into The Munns, whose wedding I shot earlier this year too. I’ve shot a few Salvation Army ceremonies now, and I have to say I’m rather fond of them, there’s a real family feel to the ceremony and everybody greets you as an old friend.

After the service, Claire and Simon jumped into a classic VW Beetle and headed over to Bradbourne House. It’s a bit of a hidden gem in my eyes, hidden behind an unassuming housing estate in Maidstone is this huge beautiful building, complete with acres of land and a lake. I love the inside with its turquoise coloured walls and portraits hanging everywhere. The staff there, are an absolute delight to work with and go out of their way to help you out, which as a wedding photographer is always a bonus. Michael the toastmaster was on hand as ever to help ensure the day ran smoothly and as ever did a fantastic job.
