Mercedes & Ben got married one fine summers day, and had their reception at the beautiful Nurstead Court in Meopham, Kent

They got married at the lovely little church  just outside the entrance to Nurstead, and it was the vicars very last wedding before retirement. I’ve shot in many churches, but this was such a quaint little church and had a real intimate feel to it. Glynne of Aarion Wedding Cars was on hand to drive the bridal party around for the day. It’s always a pleasure working with Glenne as he is such a genuinely friendly guy.

Once the wedding was done we headed over to Nurstead Court itself. Nurstead Court is an historically important Grade 1 listed building consisting of a Medieval aisled hall, dating back to 1320, with a Victorian facade added in 1825. It has a huge amount of grounds to it, and many different options for ceremonies and receptions. I believe they’re also having some bed and breakfast rooms added soon, which would make it even more attractive as a place to get married as I would imagine you could have the bridal preps there too. Mercedes and Bens reception was held in the marquee in the grounds. Claire of Cinderellas Dreams Wedding and Events Decor, has set to work decorating the venue. I’ll be honest, I’m a guy so my descriptive powers of pretty things probably arent completely acurate…so I shall say that the decor had a sort of glittery grandeur to it, with a boho twist. Needless to say it looked beautiful, and completely suited our Mercedes and Ben.

One of the biggest surprises of the day was the entertainment. Had I not overhead a conversation earlier in the day, I wouldn’t have known what was going to happen. After the meal service was finished the head waiter stood up and announced that one of the waitresses was leaving the job and that she wanted to sing the happy couple a song…before long two other waiters joined in and it turned out Mercedes had hired singing waiters. They really grabbed everyone’s attention and even got  conga line going! So all in all it was a fantastic bit of entertainment for the tables.
